Evidence and state

The .ma/ directory is the project-local record of the workflow. It keeps decisions, task state, checks, and receipts close to the project they describe.

A useful rule

Source files and fresh test results are stronger evidence than generated notes. When the two disagree, Meta-Architect should surface the conflict instead of pretending the project is ready.

Use the status output for the current state. Use the receipts under .ma/ when you need to understand why a decision was made.
