Getting started
Install Meta-Architect and run your first guided task.
Before you begin
- Node.js 20 or newer — install the current LTS release before running Meta-Architect.
- An AI coding agent — install Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or another supported host first.
- Optional TypeSafe API key — configure this for live Jev routing; local Maestro routing works without it.
Install
npm install --global @jstn-sdk/ma@latestFor live Jev routing, set the key in your shell. It is read at runtime and is not written to the project:
export TYPESAFE_API_KEY="jv_live_your_key"Without a key, Maestro uses its bounded local policy and records that live Jev was not used. To select that mode explicitly:
MAESTRO_DECISION_PROVIDER=local ma run '$maestro'Set up the project
Run this from the project directory:
ma setupSetup detects the current host, installs the compatible project surface, and
creates .ma/ state. Existing user-owned files are preserved.
Start work
ma --madmax --highThen give Maestro one clear goal inside the agent:
$maestro Build a multi-tenant analytics API with authentication and tests.Maestro chooses the next eligible action, runs it, verifies the result, and continues until the task is complete or a decision needs your approval.
